Wild Halibut — Cooking Guide

About This Product

Savor the mild, sweet flavour and firm, flaky texture of our Wild-Caught Halibut — a true seafood classic, responsibly harvested from cold northern waters. Naturally lean, protein-rich, and low in fat, halibut is a clean-tasting white fish that cooks beautifully whether you're baking, grilling, or pan-searing. At HQ Meats, our wild halibut is boneless, skinless, and flash-frozen at peak freshness.

How to Cook It

  1. Pat the fillet dry and season with salt just before cooking.
  2. Sear skin-side down in a hot, oiled pan for 4–5 minutes, then flip and cook 2–3 minutes more (or bake at 200°C/400°F for 10–12 minutes).
  3. Cook until the flesh flakes easily with a fork.
  4. Rest 2 minutes before serving.

Chef's Tip

Score the skin lightly before searing to help it crisp evenly and lie flat in the pan.
