Ground Lamb — Cooking Guide

About This Product

Our Ground Lamb is freshly ground in-house — rich, savoury flavour that's perfect for burgers, kofta, meatballs, or a hearty bolognese.

How to Cook It

  1. Form patties or shapes gently (don't overwork the meat) and season just before cooking.
  2. Grill or pan-sear over medium-high heat, about 4–5 minutes per side, flipping only once.
  3. Don't press down while cooking — this squeezes out the juices.
  4. Cook all the way through, then rest 2–3 minutes before serving.

Safe Internal Temperature

Cut Internal Temp
Ground beef, pork, or lamb 71°C / 160°F

Because it's ground meat, cook all the way through — there is no food-safe "medium-rare" for burgers or patties. Check with a digital meat thermometer. (Source: Health Canada safe cooking temperature guidelines.)

Chef's Tip

Lamb's natural fat is flavourful but can flare up on the grill — keep a cooler zone on the grate to move patties to if flare-ups happen.
