About This Coffee
Kickstart is a bold, full-bodied Colombian medium-dark roast from Paicol, washed for structure and roasted for punch. Rich chocolate and toffee sweetness carry through in every cup — the coffee for when you need to get moving.
How to Brew It
- Grind fresh, right before brewing — whole bean coffee loses aromatics quickly once ground.
- Use filtered water and measure your coffee and water by weight for consistency.
- For drip or pour-over, use a medium grind; for French press, a coarse grind; for espresso, a fine grind.
- Being medium-dark, a slightly coarser grind than usual for your method helps avoid over-extraction and bitterness.
- Brew, then serve promptly — coffee is best within 20–30 minutes of brewing.
Recommended Brew Ratios
| Method | Ratio (Coffee:Water) | Water Temp |
|---|---|---|
| Drip / Pour-Over | 1:16 | 90–96°C / 195–205°F |
| French Press | 1:15 | 93–96°C / 200–205°F |
| Espresso | 1:2 (18g in / 36g out) | 90–94°C / 195–202°F |
Ratios are a starting point (SCA-standard guidelines) — adjust to taste.
Storage Tip
Keep beans in an airtight container, away from light, heat, and moisture. For best flavour, use within 2–3 weeks of the roast date.
